Positivism: E-magazine

As I was bloghopping and scanning facebook last night, I came across Niccolo's profile and he featured something that sparked my interest. It is a website dedicated to educate people in the Philippines about HIV/AIDS. The website opens to an E-magazine. Just like a regular magazine it has different sections, photos, and even a section where readers could send letters. Cool huh? The website is called Positivism (http://positivism.ph).

I'd like to commend people like Nico and those who put up this e-magazine for helping in the efforts to stop the stigma that HIV/AIDS has brought to our society. We are now in the 21st century and at this point in time, nothing is impossible, ergo there will come a time that cure for HIV/AIDS is just right around the corner. People should start treating this disease like other diseases such as cancer, or tumor or leukemia and stop looking down on those people with HIV/AIDS. If here in the US, it is no longer a problem and you cannot discriminate anyone due to health conditions, PHILIPPINES i think should make those baby steps towards the elimination of discrimination due to health conditions such as HIV/AIDS.

Bravo Nico and Bravo Positivism!

I believe the picture is Wanggo Gallaga, an HIV positive and is one of the creations of Niccolo Cosme. Great job!

Happy Mother's Day

Everyone on facebook are greeting their moms Happy Mother's Day. I could not greet my mom a Happy Mother's day because she's gone already. She died 9 years ago. It was weird because she won the battle with lung cancer. Two years she lived a very happy life with us.

I could still remember the day that she died. It was a day after her birthday. We had a very happy conversation during her birthday, I called her with my nokia cellphone, the very first one that I had and paid for. I told her that I'll call her again the following day. But instead, I got a call from my aunt in the province asking us to go home immediately because our mom is in serious conditions. So we went home, not knowing that we will see lights from the wake of our mother. It was sad..really very sad for me and everytime mother's day comes along, I would always remember that awful day.

Years have gone by and I still miss my mom. So on this mother's day, eventhough she might not be hearing this, I'd like to tell you mom that "I love you and your memories will always be alive in my heart and mind, Happy Mother's day."

How I Roll?

What is this all about? This website is dedicated in informing the general public, not just the gay, bisexual, lesbian, transexual or transgender community about HIV and STD prevention. The mission of the website and I quote are: "promote the use of condom, provide information and open a dialogue about methods of prevention."

I highly recommend this site to people in our spectrum who are sexually active and intend to get the best fun that they can in the field. For those who are still testing the waters, this could also be your guide. Let us be "safer" because you could never be safe.

So if you have spare time, instead of visiting Corbin Fisher, Sean Cody or Randy Blue which are definitely hot hot websites, spend 5 minutes of your lunch break in exploring what you could get from How I Roll? website and maybe, maybe you'll have a see things differently and responsibly.

Now here's a video of your favorite porn stars working for this informational campaign from How I Roll website.

Charlie from MGG

I was browsing again one of my favorite sites in the blogsphere, that is the blog of Migz - The Manila Gay Guy
and I chanced upon the letter of Charlie. He is another HIV positive dude in the Philippines, I suppose. If you are interested to read his letter, click here. Please don't forget to give words of encouragement to this kid. I think he needs assurance that being HIV positive is no longer the end of one's life. There's a whole new life in being poz and yes it is quite different from the life you're used to but still you gotta love it because its not yet the end. Don't be negative to HIV.

On a brighter note, I would like to greet Migz on the 2nd anniversary of his very powerful blog The Manila Gay Guy. Congratulations and more power to you.
